Sublimation is a printing method used for transferring images on certain materials using special ink and heat.
For clothing items it is recommended to use either light gray or white shirts with at least 65% polyester in them. The rule of thumb is that the print that goes on the shirt is darker than the shirt itself. The printer does not print white, so keep in mind if the photo has white in it and you pick a gray shirt, where it is white it will actually be gray. This method embeds the design right in the polyester and will not wash out.
It is possible to sublimate on darker items, but it needs to be done on either glitter vinyl or subliflock which feels kind of like felt. Both are a little raised on the article.
